PRINCIPAL PROCESS ENGINEER

Job Description

Our company is looking for a Principal Process Engineer to join the Mura team. The Principal Process Engineer provides disciplined technical leadership and accountability for Process Engineering in the delivery of capital projects and engineering services. The Principal Engineer reports directly to the President of North America. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Technical lead for plant development, including oversight of the process design package, FEL-3, and detailed engineering and owners engineer 
  • Primary technical areas include (a) material (waste) handling, sortation and processing, (b) thermochemistry, and (c) product refining and upgrading 
  • Interface between North America development and operational projects, and the global engineering leads (based in the UK) 
  • Assist permitting efforts and interface between owner’s engineer and permitting consultants 
  • Maintains ownership of work packages through all project phases so that target functionality, quality, and reliability are achieved. 
  • Technological analysis including process and technology plant fits, capacity and equipment utilization, and assessment of applicable new technology 

Qualifications: 

Minimum: 

  • 5+ years in process engineering roles in refining or petrochemical engineering desirable – 5+ years on-site experience with operating assets 
  • Reliability engineering mandatory 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 

Desired: 

  • Asset optimization 
  • Solid material handling experience 
  • Experience as an independent engineer
