Dr Steve Mahon

Steve is an experienced investment professional and business entrepreneur with a long career in managing and investing in the environmental sector, having delivered three IPOs and headed up AIM-listed technology businesses. Steve has led Mura in developing global partnerships with KBR, Dow, LG Chem and CPChem to build and operate industrial-scale advanced recycling facilities in both Europe and the US. He has a long career in energy transition and was a pioneer of the renewables sector, being one of the first to develop, build and operate solar assets in the UK. Now through Mura he is pioneering the advanced recycling sector. Steve has a First Class degree and PhD in Geophysics and Planetary Physics.

Richard Daley

Richard has worked extensively in senior management positions globally within operational facilities and EPC project delivery for over 20 years, with experience in design, manufacture and commissioning. He is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and a registered Chartership Mentor and Interviewer for Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).

In addition, Richard is Managing Director of ReNew ELP, the world’s first commercial-scale HydroPRS™ site, where he oversees the full site development and progression and whole-industry development, and sits on the Board of Directors.

Aaron Doughty

— Chief Commercial Officer

Aaron is a leader in the energy and petrochemical industries with over 30 years’ experience. Before joining Mura Technology, Aaron was Managing Director Emerging Energy and Sustainability for Phillips 66 and led the Circular Economy and Renewable Power & Gas initiatives. Preceding this role, Aaron was instrumental in the development and operations of the Phillips 66 Natural Gas Liquids business.

Previous to his work at Phillips 66, Aaron worked to expand the unregulated customer base at Reliant Energy in key commercial and business development roles. In his prior work at TOTAL, Aaron developed the Energy Services Group which managed supply and financial risks and he eventually led the eBusiness team for the Americas to streamline procurement. Early in his career, Aaron was a consultant at Phillip Townsend Associates where he assisted clients in developing plastics and recycling strategies and was instrumental in creating standards for the Chicago Board of Trade for recycled plastics.

Throughout Aaron’s career, he has been an advocate of sound energy and petrochemical policies. Aaron has held positions with the American Chemistry Council, American Petroleum Institute and is past Chairman of PAC66. He is a frequent panelist and speaker on energy and sustainability topics.

Aaron started his career as a plant operator in Dow Chemical’s polyethylene pilot plants while attending college.

Aaron earned an MBA from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Houston.

Professor Maschmeyer is Co-Founder of Licella Holdings, and an inventor some of the key components of Mura’s Hydro-PRT process. In addition, he is Founder, non-executive director and Principal Technology Advisor of Gelion plc, an AIM listed battery company. Most recently he was awarded the Australian Academy of Science’s David Craig Medal (2021) and the Australian Prime Minister’s Prize for Innovation (2020).
