Mura Technology Limited (“Mura”) is delighted to announce a partnership with BioLogiQ, Inc. (“BioLogiQ”) to drive towards a circular economy for plastics by accelerating the commercialisation of its breakthrough Cat-HTR (‘Catalytic Hydrothermal Reactor’) chemical recycling solution in China.

The Cat-HTR technology is able to recycle End-of-Life Plastics back to the oil they originally came from. This recycled oil can be refined into chemicals that can be used to make new plastics, creating a truly circular solution for all types of plastic.

According to Dr. Steve Mahon, CEO of Mura, “Mura and BioLogiQ have a shared vision for future in which plastics play positive economic, environmental, and social roles. Today, only a portion of plastic waste is mechanically recycled. The rest is landfilled, incinerated, and in the worst cases, finds its way into marine waterways and oceans. Meanwhile, we continue pumping fossil oil out of the ground to make new plastics. Our Cat-HTR plants will turn any plastic waste into synthetic oil that can be used to make new plastics, waxes and chemicals.”
