Dr Steve Mahon
Steve is an experienced investment professional and business entrepreneur with a long career in managing and investing in the environmental sector. He combines a detailed understanding across a wide range of clean technologies with the first-hand experience of growing early stage businesses.
He is the co-founder and CEO of Armstrong Capital, a leading asset manager in the impact sector with investments across renewable energy, agriculture, battery storage and recycling. He has a first-class degree and PhD in Geophysics and Planetary Physics.
A chartered financial planner, Robin has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He formed Progressive Strategic Solutions in 1997; one of the first chartered firms in the UK. Progressive provides financial advice and tax planning to high net worth individuals and businesses.
Actively involved in renewable energy for a number of years; Robin’s family farm operates both commercial biomass and solar installations. Robin holds board positions with Downing and ProVen Venture Capital Trusts, covering both generalist and renewable energy sectors.
Dr Len Humphreys is the CEO of Licella Pty, co-inventor of the
Cat-HTR™ technology, a chartered chemist and former Director of several renewable energy companies, including Novera Energy. In addition, Len held Managing Director and Regional President roles inside the European Invensys Group.
Len was previously a senior executive inside the Mannesmann Group, a German multinational specialising in engineering, manufacturing and telecommunications; this included CEO position at the Hartmann and Braun Process Analytical Division in the UK.
Larry was the Executive Chairman and founder of GlobeStar Mining Corporation, previously a TSX-listed company, until its recent acquisition by Perilya Ltd (ASX: PEM). He founded Sarmin in 1997, which was a private natural resource corporation, prior to its acquisition by GlobeStar. He now joins Mura as a Director.
Larry is currently Director and Company Secretary at Karr Securities Inc., and Chairman of Karmin Exploration. He received an Ontario Business Achievement Award (OBAA) and the Ontario Global Traders Award (OGTA) from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce in 2009.
Dr. Geoff Brighty
Scientific and Policy Advisor
Geoff is a sustainability professional, leading on science, policy and regulation. He chairs the UK Plastics Pact Non- Mechanical Recycling group and was recently appointed to the UKPP Advisory Group. Geoff gained extensive experience in waste strategy, policy and regulation working for UK regulator Environment Agency. He was Technical Director for Plastic Oceans UK, advising on the film ‘A Plastic Ocean’.
Principal Technology Advisor
Professor Thomas Maschmeyer is an inventor of the Cat-HTR™ technology and Co-Founder of Licella Holdings, part of the Mura Technology JV. He is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sydney and served as Founding Director of the $150m Australian Institute of Nanoscale Science and Technology.
In 2011 he was elected Foreign Member of the Academia Europea, as well as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences, the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and, in 2014, of the Royal Society of NSW.
Dr Bill Rowlands
An experienced industrial scientist, Bill has worked in renewable and alternative energy and materials since 2006. Prior to this, he was the R&D Manager for Colloidal Dynamics, specializing in the design and manufacture of scientific instruments for colloid science applications and consulting services.
He has held a number of Postdoctoral positions at the University of Sydney, and was a Senior Technologist with Redland Technology (UK). He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. from the University of Bristol, as well as an EMBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
Kim has over 25 years’ experience in global property development, with leadership roles in operations, stakeholder management, construction, finance and legal for some of the world’s biggest developers. She was an equity partner of Australia’s pre-eminent law-firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
Most recently, Kim has been working with Lendlease on its joint venture Malaysian RM10b development ‘The Exchange, TRX’ in Kuala Lumpur, and helped guide the delivery of its $6 billion Australian ‘Barangaroo’ project in Sydney, Australia. She joins Mura as Senior Advisor.
Managing Director – Europe
Oliver has over 25 years’ experience in the investment banking industry having worked at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and AIG Financial Products, structuring investments both on the buy and sell side. His expertise includes securitisation, commodities and insurance-linked investments.
In the last decade he has focused on cross border structured finance and securitisation for infrastructure, transport and real estate transactions. Oliver holds a BA from Bucknell University and an MA with distinction from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
Rebecca works in the investment team at both Mura and Armstrong Capital, a leading asset manager in the impact sector. Prior to this, she worked at the global investment bank Jefferies International, gaining experience across all financial products and focused on IPO’s, bond offerings and M&A deals.
Rebecca graduated with a degree in Natural Sciences, having specialised in Chemistry, from the University of Cambridge in 2014. Her career has brought UK, European and International experience, and she is keen to progress Cat-HTR™ technology across a global platform.
Kim brings over 10 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications to the Mura team, with a background in designing multi-channel campaigns and communications for public and private sector audiences. In addition to her role at Mura, Kim also manages communications for ReNew ELP.
Kim studied at Open University, and her career to date spans both household FMCG brands and the design sector. Kim’s role is focused on communicating Mura Technology and highlighting the benefits of chemical recycling at global level and lobbying Government.
Michael previously worked in the London based Infrastructure & Renewable Energy Team at Allianz Capital Partners. During his career, Michael has gained valuable experience in deal structuring by working on several large scale infrastructure transactions in both Europe
and the US.
Prior to this, Michael gained additional investment sector experience at UBS Europe SE and Union Investment. Michael holds a B.Sc. from the International School of Management (ISM), having completed part of his studies at Tsinghua University and Melbourne University.
Executive Assistant to CEO Steve Mahon and providing support to the wider team, Louise has a wealth of experience supporting board level staff, having previously supported the Joint Managing Director and Legal & Commercial Director at Muse Developments Ltd., an urban regeneration company.
Louise has a BA degree in Classical Civilisation from the University of Nottingham. She has a keen interest in renewable energy, recycling technology and the ethos of Mura, and is excited to see how it will help deliver a #plasticneutral, sustainable and environmentally beneficial future.
