Dr Steve Mahon
Steve is an experienced investment professional and business entrepreneur with a long career in managing and investing in the environmental sector. He combines a detailed understanding across a wide range of clean technologies with the first-hand experience of growing early stage businesses.
He is the co-founder and CEO of Armstrong Capital, a leading asset manager in the impact sector with investments across renewable energy, agriculture, battery storage and recycling. He has a first-class degree and PhD in Geophysics and Planetary Physics.
Principal Technology Advisor
Professor Thomas Maschmeyer is an inventor of the Cat-HTR™ technology and Co-Founder of Licella Holdings, part of the Mura Technology JV. He is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Sydney and served as Founding Director of the $150m Australian Institute of Nanoscale Science and Technology.
In 2011 he was elected Foreign Member of the Academia Europea, as well as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Sciences, the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) and, in 2014, of the Royal Society of NSW.
Business Development Director
Oliver has over 25 years’ experience in the investment banking industry having worked at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and AIG Financial Products, structuring investments both on the buy and sell side. His expertise includes securitisation, commodities and insurance-linked investments.
In the last decade he has focused on cross border structured finance and securitisation for infrastructure, transport and real estate transactions. Oliver holds a BA from Bucknell University and an MA with distinction from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service.
Richard has worked extensively in senior management positions globally within operational facilities and EPC project delivery for over 20 years, with experience in design, manufacture and commissioning. He is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and a registered Chartership Mentor and Interviewer for Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE).
In addition, Richard is Managing Director of ReNew ELP, the world’s first commercial-scale Cat-HTR™ site, where he overseas the full site development and progression and whole-industry development, and sits on the Board of Directors.
Dr Geoff Brighty
Senior Policy Advisor
Dr Geoff Brighty is a sustainability expert with a career spanning 30 years in the environmental protection and regulation sector. A published research scientist with a PhD in fish reproduction and aquaculture, he has over 20 environmental pollution and flood risk publications, and most recently facilitated our short film featuring Sir David Attenborough.
Geoff brings a wealth of experience and influence within issues including flooding, water quality and climate change adaptation for Governments. Non Executive Director for ReNew ELP, Geoff steers political engagement and environmental direction.
Kim has over 25 years’ experience in global property development, with leadership roles in operations, stakeholder management, construction, finance and legal for some of the world’s biggest developers. She was an equity partner of Australia’s pre-eminent law-firm, Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
Most recently, Kim has been working with Lendlease on its joint venture Malaysian RM10b development ‘The Exchange, TRX’ in Kuala Lumpur, and helped guide the delivery of its $6 billion Australian ‘Barangaroo’ project in Sydney, Australia. She joins Mura as Senior Advisor.
Rebecca works in the investment team at both Mura and Armstrong Capital, a leading asset manager in the impact sector. Prior to this, she worked at global investment bank Jefferies International, gaining experience across all financial products with focus on IPO’s, bonds and M&A deals.
Rebecca graduated with a degree in Natural Sciences, having specialised in Chemistry, from the University of Cambridge in 2014. Her career has brought UK, European and International experience, and she is keen to progress Cat-HTR™ technology across a global platform.
Andreas has over 22 years’ experience in the plant engineering business for major investments worldwide, with experience in project management and planning, process technology and engineering, module fabrication and construction, commissioning and start-up, across the mining, oil, and gas industries.
Andreas holds a Diploma of Process Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Frankfurt / Main, Germany and studied Business Administration at the University of Hagen, Germany.
Steve has over 22 years’ extensive international experience, working across the water, power, nuclear and chemical industries. A Chartered Chemical Engineer, Steve has held management positions in process engineering, commissioning and project management.
Steve is Technical Manager for both Mura Technology and ReNew ELP, the world’s first commercial-scale Cat-HTR™ site, where he leads internal engineering resource and development at the Wilton site.
Kim brings over 10 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications to the Mura team, with a background in designing multi-channel campaigns and communications for public and private sector audiences. In addition to her role at Mura, Kim also manages communications for ReNew ELP.
Kim studied at Open University, and her career to date spans both household FMCG brands and the design sector. Kim’s role is focused on communicating Mura Technology and highlighting the benefits of chemical recycling at global level, whilst lobbying Government.
Michael previously worked in the London based Infrastructure & Renewable Energy Team at Allianz Capital Partners. During his career, Michael has gained valuable experience in deal structuring by working on several large scale infrastructure transactions in both Europe
and the US.
Prior to this, Michael gained additional investment sector experience at UBS Europe SE and Union Investment. Michael holds a B.Sc. from the International School of Management (ISM), having completed part of his studies at Tsinghua University and Melbourne University.
Regulatory & Compliance Lead
Rosie holds a Masters degree in Geology, and has ten years’ experience in environmental and process safety consulting, planning and permitting for local and international developments including process, power generation and renewables.
She is responsible for gaining planning and permitting approvals and for regulatory compliance for Mura Technology, alongside ReNew ELP, the world’s first commercial scale Cat-HTR™ site, allowing the project to proceed to timeline and plan.
Accounts & Procurement Lead
Michael has over 12 years’ experience in accounting and finance, working predominantly at a European law firm, where he managed the finance and administration team. During this time, he gained experience in a fast-paced environment, with exposure to international business, strategic financial planning, performance analysis and taxation.
Since 2015, Michael has been working in the asset management sector of the renewable energy industry; primarily on solar projects and Mura’s plastic waste solution.
Executive Assistant to CEO Steve Mahon and providing support to the wider team, Louise has a wealth of experience supporting board level staff, having previously supported the Joint Managing Director and Legal & Commercial Director at Muse Developments Ltd., an urban regeneration company.
Louise has a BA degree in Classical Civilisation from the University of Nottingham. She has a keen interest in renewable energy, recycling technology and the ethos of Mura, and is excited to see how it will help deliver a #plasticneutral, sustainable and environmentally beneficial future.
